The Philharmonic Youth Band

The Philharmonic Youth Band is a 40-member group with a repertory that highlights instrumental pieces from Colombia and Latin America in original arrangements for this Band.

Increasingly, this Band’s concert programs have come to include music from the classical repertoire as well as the core repertoire for band at concerts where the soloists are selected among the most accomplished members of the group.

This Band has taken part at outstanding Concert bands festivals in Colombia like the Mono Núñez Festival, and the Festivals of Villa de Leyva and Paipa.

 

Saxophone Quintet of the Philharmonic Youth Band

This chamber group is conformed by members of the Philharmonic Youth Band to perform music from Colombia and Latin America to display their talent and versatility. The instruments in the saxophone family that integrate this Quintet are soprano, alto, tenor and baritone.

Their presentations have taken place in a wide variety of places in the city of Bogota such as schools, Community Centers and penal institutions, to name but a few, with the result of strengthening the concert offer by the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra to allow a growing number of residents in the city to enjoy music through this formation.
